| A one-week introduction to the
principles of the Lessac Approach for Voice & Body Training will be
offered May 30 - June 4, 2010 at the University of Mary Washington in
Fredericksburg, VA. Specifically designed for those interested
in experiencing stronger, more resonant vocal quality with ease, in
conjunction with creating more physical flexibility, strength and
expressive body movement. This
training is beneficial for actors, singers, directors, lawyers,
ministers, presenters, business men and women – in short, anyone
interested in vocal/body life! A daily schedule would be full of
instruction: from 8 am-8: 30 pm with appropriate breaks within that
time frame.
Tuition for this workshop is $1,100.00,
which includes housing (see more information below) and lunch and
dinner daily. Additional costs include your transportation to the
workshop and purchase of THE USE AND TRAINING OF THE HUMAN VOICE, by
Arthur Lessac (see “Resources” page on
this website for ordering information.)

| Participants in the Lessac Summer
Workshops at the University of Mary Washington will enjoy full
apartment living during the workshops. The Apartments at Mary
Washington are air-conditioned and have 2 bedrooms, 1-1/2 baths, a
kitchen, and living/dining room combination. They are completely
furnished. Each bedroom comes equipped with bed linens, a pillow, a
blanket, and a set of towels. The kitchen has a stove, refrigerator,
and dishwasher. Each apartment will contain a set of
dishware/glassware/stemware for two, a set of cookware, utensils,
dish towels, paper towels, and dishwasher detergent. Each bedroom
also has internet access, either wireless or LAN (CAT-5) cable.
Please note that the apartments are
NOT equipped with microwaves, coffee makers, or other small
appliances. Also, the bedrooms have NO light fixtures. Participants
are encouraged to bring a small lamp for their bedroom as well as
any other home comforts they wish. A Giant Grocery Store and Roses
Department store are within walking distance for food and supply
purchases.
Upon arrival, participants will be
provided with a list of restaurants within walking distance of
campus, area attractions, and emergency information. |

| Tuition and Fees |
| A $100.00 deposit is due with
application for admission. Application deadline is April 15. A full
refund of this deposit is granted if not accepted into the program.
½ deposit is refundable if after acceptance you must cancel, and you
notify the program coordinator before May 1. For those accepted into
the Workshop, the deposit will be deducted from your tuition fee.
After notification of acceptance, tuition and fees are due by May 1.
No one may participate without full payment of tuition and fees.
Deadline for withdrawal is May 1. After that date, no deposits will
be refunded.
