Personal Statement

Since my initial journey began as a singer and Music Major I have always had a special affinity for the performer.  Over the years Arts Medicine has brought together the Speech/Voice Pathologist, Laryngologist, Acting-Voice Therapist, and Singing Specialist which in turn has provided more tools and attention for the vocal athlete and all professional voice users.  I came to my first intensive looking to enrich my knowledge of voice and better understand the perspective of the actor.  What I discovered were life concepts, life energies, and my own personal journey in voice that far surpassed anything I could have imagined.  Discovering that Arthur’s educational degrees were originally in Speech Pathology only deepened my admiration of the remarkable ‘work’ he had created.  His concepts helped me to ‘feeeel’ the ‘energy’, to understand that everything is ‘energy’, and the infinite creative ways to communicate that energy within and to others.   I discovered greater respect for the human body, and the actor voice athlete.  My passion is voice development, the prevention of voice misuse, and to communicate Arthur’s conception of energies to others.
